Staging the Message is a research course divided into three parts that aims to address the use of theoretical and practical tools for communication and media production.
We will analyze the tools one can use in communication to the reading world and this will serve as the platform for the proceeding course. Further we will take the role of the voyeur and look into imagery, diagrams and the levels by which they communicate with their onlookers. Finally we will address design critique and the complex and intimate process of looking with others eyes upon, bringing the design to its ultimate completion.
Staging the Message is supported by the Swedish research school ResArc, which is a collaboration between the schools of Architecture at KTH, Chalmers, LTH, and Umeå University. The aim of ResArc is to strengthen architectural research, education and collaborative projects at national and international levels. ResArc was launched in February 2012 and is coordinated and administered by the Department of Architecture and Built Environment at Lund University. ResArc received funding from the Swedish Research council FORMAS 2011 in a total effort that also includes the two strong research environments Architecture in Effect and Architecture in the Making.
